Animal Garden: Maria Farrar, Akira the Hustler, Hilmi Johandi, Yayoi Kusama, BuBu de le Madeleine, Soe Yu Nwe, Chris Huen Sin-Kan, Tomoko Kashiki

Overview

Ota Fine Arts Tokyo will be closed for a winter holiday from 26 December 2024 to 10 January 2024.

Ota Fine Arts is delighted to announce our winter group exhibition, "animal garden".

Closely connected to our lives, some animals live as pets that are as intimate as family, some as domesticated animals that share their lives with us, and some as wild beings that we must sometimes confront as enemies. In the world of art since ancient times, animal motifs have appeared frequently. They are also seen as objects of affection and awe, with their motifs being used to symbolise politics, power and society in every era and culture. By focusing on animals, we also see human activities reflected in the gaze of the artists who capture and depict them.

This exhibition includes several new works, including small drawings and paintings created by the gallery's artists. Ota Fine Arts invites all to experience our animal garden.
