Petite Grounds: Bubu de la Madeleine, Rina Banerjee, Chen Wei, Masanori Handa, Tsuyoshi Hisakado, Hilmi Johandi, Tomoko Kashiki, Yayoi Kusama, Jason Lim, Guo-Liang Tan, ¥ouada, Zai Kuning
Ota Fine Arts Shanghai is pleased to present “Petite Grounds”, a group exhibition that includes works by Bubu de la Madeleine, Rina Banerjee, Chen Wei, Masanori Handa, Tsuyoshi Hisakado, Hilmi Johandi, Tomoko Kashiki, Yayoi Kusama, Jason Lim, Guo-Liang Tan, ¥ouada and Zai Kuning.
Like a synthesis of all things petite and playful, the exhibition brings together small to mid-sized works of each artist ranging from the abstract to the figurative, monochrome to colors, and a mixture of mediums including ceramics, photography, painting, etc. Effervescing with thoughts, the exhibited works reflect an Asian cultural diversity that extends across geography, history, identity, social situations and art history.
Moreover, we are curious about how audiences will negotiate each object, both small and large: what it is, how it is perceived and how it is created. Ota Fine Arts Shanghai invites you to indulge in the simple act of seeing, observing, and discovering a rich and tender aesthetic.
