7CHOME: Chen Wei
Ota Fine Arts is delighted to announce the opening of a new viewing room on Saturday 18th June, located near the National Art Center in 7-chome Roppongi, on the 1st floor of THE MODULE roppongi building (an approximate10-minute walk from the current gallery).
Our inaugural presentation will be a solo exhibition by Chinese photography artist Chen Wei (b.1980). He lives and works in Beijing. He focuses on social themes such as urban landscape and disco culture, and works with photography and installation. As an artist living in China, he observes the rapidly-changing landscapes in the country, and his art-making is influenced by his findings. His works often reveal the people’s hope for a better life, in contrast with the reality that they face.
