Summer Show: Nobuaki Takekawa, Yayoi Kusama
Ota Fine Arts is delighted to present ‘Summer Show’, a duo exhibition featuring Yayoi Kusama and Nobuaki Takekawa. Kusama recently introduced her latest paintings from the My Eternal Soul series in our previous exhibition ‘I Want Your Tears To Flow With The Words I Wrote’. Subsequently, this exhibition traces back on various artworks by the artist to discover her artistic developments from the past to the present. Takekawa showcases his latest painting as well as works from his Cat Olympics series which he started in 2017 in response to the Olympic Games. This exhibition examines the connection between Kusama’s collage works that were made in the 1980’s and her recent paintings painted 40 years after; and questions what Takekawa’s Cat Olympics works convey to us now since his initial approach to this theme in 2017. Ota Fine Arts invites you to experience the traces of artworks that have matured over time.
