The panels overlap with a slight shift, subtly revealing the colors on the panel that is hidden behind. Hisakado’s artworks often deal with the sensory perception of the viewer. In this piece, the artist uses the visible spectrum (the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that is visible to the human eye) to challenge the concept of recognition. To Hisakado, when visible colors are layered on top of each other, they can return to light (additive color mixture), and eventually create nothingness. The blank canvas represents an accumulation of everything – instead of nothingness.展览
